2025 PEI’s Family Physician of the Year, Reg L. Perkin Award. 

 This award recognizes an outstanding CFPC member who exemplifies the ideals of family medicine.

• Dr. Kristy Newson, her involvement in the chapter for 6 years, president of PEI CFPC
• Lead Physicians for electronic medical record implementation with Health PEl, has chaired on PEICFP education committee (CME/FMC PEI) for 10 years.
• Enthusiastic runner and promoter of running for health with adults, children, and FP.
• Facilitate Practising Wisely, PEI CME presentation for many years, and she has always been delightful to work with, professional, friendly, warm, and a great colleague.

2025 Award of Excellences

Dr. Laura Neumann For maintaining consistent leadership for the Kings County region for many years. In addition, Dr. Neumann kept up her family practice along with other leadership duties at Health PEI. A great resource for decisions affecting family medicine on PEI.

Dr. Kaylee Murphy (not present)For supporting her colleagues in the province-wide transition to the Collaborative Health Record (CHR) system. Dr. Murphy’s expertise in the system’s integration and knowledge translation is a tremendous asset to the physician population. Your support is appreciated.

Dr. Megan Miller(not present)

For truly enhancing the medical assistance in dying (MAiD) program since taking over as physician lead in 2023. Dr. Miller deepened connections with neighbouring provinces as well as strengthened partnerships with allied health programs in PEI. A true champion of enhancing supports as well as options for patients at end of life.
