Objectives:
Attendees will learn about the evidence base behind and practical application of non-benzodiazepine pharmacologic management of alcohol withdrawal that may be particularly useful for patients outside the acute hospital setting.
Attendees will appreciate how a targeted assessment of co-occurring mental illnesses can improve the chances of arriving at effective treatments for patients with alcohol use disorders, thereby decreasing the negative effects of problem drinking and making recovery more likely.
Attendees will acquire detailed knowledge about pharmacologic interventions for alcohol use disorders that can be tailored to the particular needs and preferences of a variety of different patients.
